Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) Logistics is the applied science of defining supportable systems and of planning and implementing the acquisition and use of resources. At its base level, logistics is what creates and sustains civilisation. Without logistics, the world as we know it would cease to exist.
Integrated Logistic Support is the disciplined, unified and iterative process for the management of the technical logistic disciplines required in the conceptualisation, development, production and support of any system, process or equipment. ILS is both a programmed technical management system for through-life support and an analytical basis for decision making on through-life support activities and resources.
The application of ILS aims to ensue that the end-user receives a system / process / product that not only meets the specified performance requirements, but can be efficiently, effectively and economically supported throughout its programmed life-cycle.
The management framework of ILS is divided into nine basic elements, corresponding to the logistic disciplines which must work interactively and co-ordinate their particular parts in the development and implementation of the program. Depending on the nature of the project, additional ILS elements may be included in the project scope. The nine basic elements are listed to the left of screen.. Click on an element for a short description of that element.
With a staff of ILS practitioners, Exair is well placed to bring all the ILS disciplines and benefits to your product or program of development in a balanced and tailored approach.
